Bringing your puppy home: the first ten days checklist

A puppy's arrival is a wonderful moment, but the first days shape the habits of the years to come. Before you even pick them up, prepare a quiet area with a bed, bowls and a few safe toys: having their own space ready reduces settling-in stress.

In the first days keep the same food they received from the breeder or shelter and introduce changes gradually. The first nights can be noisy: a blanket smelling of mum and a steady routine help far more than scolding.
